Artist Biography
Irina Parfenova was born in Penza, Russia in 1978.She began her artistic education in 1991 in Penza State Art School, studying under prominent russian artist draughtsman Sergei Osipov.
In 2001 she entered Master`s in Fine Art program at Florida State University, where she worked closely with such artists as Mark Messersmith, Ray Burgraff, Lilian Garcia - Roig and Robert Fichter.Irina participated in more than 40 national and international art shows and received several fine art and design awards. Irina`s art works can be found in private and public collections in the USA, France, Switzerland, Russia.
She currently lives in Santa Cruz, California where she maintains an art studio.
Irina`s painting is rooted deeply into realist art tradition. Her landscapes, still lives and figurative works are informed by philosophic existentialism, and silent meditation.
